Delegation from Jordan Visits the POLIEX Factory
Period: 2013.
Senior representatives of the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau — the agency responsible for introducing new products and technologies to the Kingdom of Jordan — visited the POLIEX factory and held a working meeting with the company’s management.
Award Ceremony: “Scientist of the Year 2013 in Montenegro”
Period: 2013.
Mr Živko Andrić, Head of the Poliex Research and Innovation Centre, received the “Scientist of the Year 2013” award in the category “Patent, Innovation or New Product”.
The plaque and monetary award were presented to each laureate by the Minister of Science of Montenegro, Prof. Dr Sanja Vlahović, during a formal ceremony held at Villa Gorica.
Poliex Training Centre Begins Operations

Cooperation between Poliex and the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology
Period: 2018.
On Friday, 16 February 2018, representatives of the Chemical Industry POLIEX AD Berane visited the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. The delegation included Executive Director Slavko Vujisić and Chief Technologist Živko Andrić.
During a constructive meeting, opportunities for cooperation were identified in the areas of practical student training, the alignment of master’s and doctoral thesis topics with POLIEX’s needs, employment opportunities and scholarships for graduates of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology.
In addition, the possibility of joint applications for scientific funding was recognised, and related activities were agreed.
The Chemical Industry POLIEX, Berane was recognised as a company suitable for inclusion among the teaching bases of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. In order to promote the company and its work, a presentation will be held for students of the Faculty, with particular focus on the company’s programme in the field of specialised chemistry and perchlorate production.
Following the presentation, a visit to the company will be organised, during which an agreement on practical student training at POLIEX facilities will be signed. Company representatives emphasised the need for specialised personnel, and students will be presented with employment opportunities as well as the possibility of scholarships for a selected number of top-performing students.
The meeting confirmed the mutual readiness for cooperation in student training and the transfer of knowledge in response to market needs.
Another Significant Delaboration Project Successfully Completed
Period: 2019.
POLIEX successfully completed another significant delaboration project. The project, carried out for the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro and aimed at addressing the issue of surplus weapons and ammunition, resulted in the successful delaboration of tens of thousands of items of ordnance, ranging from 10 mm to 155 mm calibre.
The project was financed by the U.S. State Department through ITF Enhancing Human Security.
Poliex Donates 22,000 Litres of Disinfectant
Period: 2020.
Due to a shortage of disinfectants, the Chemical Industry Poliex donated 22,000 litres of disinfectant to municipalities in the north of Montenegro and to the National Coordination Body for Communicable Diseases.
Factory owner Slavko Vujisić stated that, immediately after the shortage appeared on the market, the company realised it had the capacity to produce a disinfectant and make it available. The Ministry of Economy and the National Coordination Body were informed, while the company imported the necessary components for production.
“We carried out the required analysis at the Centre for Ecotoxicological Research and first provided supplies for our employees and their families. We then made 22,000 litres available as a donation and assistance to all northern municipalities gravitating towards Mojkovac, Berane, Andrijevica, Petnjica, Rožaje and Plav, in an effort to provide support, as well as to the National Coordination Body. Most of these institutions have already collected the donation, while the National Coordination Body has not yet done so,” said Vujisić.
“Poliasept is a disinfectant based on peracetic acid and is an indispensable solution for disinfection in the food industry, breweries, dairies, butcheries and similar sectors, because it is based on active oxygen. For this purpose, and due to its price and efficiency, it is, as far as I know, irreplaceable,” Vujisić stated.
Donation to the Berane Sports Centre
Period: 2020.
Poliex donated the PoliASept disinfectant to the Berane Sports Centre. We hope that this donation will contribute to the centre’s reopening and the continuation of sports activities.
Delaboration Project Launched with the Ministry of Interior
Period: 2020.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro, Poliex launched a project for the delaboration of more than 750,000 items of unexploded ordnance, which were found to be in very poor condition.
The project, financed by the U.S. State Department through ITF Enhancing Human Security, was scheduled for completion on 30 June 2020.
POLIEX Once Again among the 100 Largest Companies

For the second year in a row, POLIEX was ranked among the 100 largest companies in Montenegro.

Valorisation of Potential and Land
Period: 2021.
In its operations, HI POLIEX AD places strong emphasis on sustainability, which it recognises as a potential for maintaining productivity and improving overall welfare, both for the company and its employees.
During the current month, the company initiated the valorisation of its resources through land cultivation, with the aim of growing organic crops intended exclusively for the needs of company employees. Planned crops include potatoes, onions, beetroot, tomatoes, cucumbers and others.
Poliex extends over more than 1,000,000 square metres of fertile land, which provides considerable space for developing this initiative.
Presentation of Cooperation Opportunities with HI “Poliex” AD Berane
Period: 2023.
On Friday, 24 March 2023, a presentation of the HI “Poliex” AD factory from Berane will be held at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, in Room 208, starting at 10:00.
The presentation will be delivered by a Poliex delegation consisting of MSc Kristina Vujisić, Member of the Board of Directors of HI “Poliex” AD, and Prof. Dr Marinko Aleksić, Head of the Poliex Research and Development Centre.
Former students of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology and the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, MSc Elma Bakija and Dragana Jelić, will speak about their experience and employment at Poliex.
The delegation will present the factory, its production programme, its current position in the regional and global markets, as well as its future development strategy. The presentation will also address opportunities for student involvement in the development of the factory, scholarships and employment opportunities for graduates of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
